Bethard suspended the marketing campaign with Zlatan Ibrahimovic

iGaming company Bethard, which works with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, postponed the launch of his marketing campaign because of fears that it could violate the rules of the English Football Association (FA).

The online gambling group which at present times targets the Nordic betting markets, released a statement announcing that it had stroke a deal with the football player. As revealed by the company at the time, Ibrahimovic had been secured by the operator as an official Brand Ambassador of its brand’s flagship sportsbook product.

However, participants in English football are banned from betting on the game worldwide, with FA regulations also stipulating: “An individual participant, when acting in a personal capacity, shall not be permitted to advertise or promote any betting activity that the participant is prohibited from engaging in.”

A day after sending out invitations to the launch, organisers announced the postponement, adding: “We will be in touch with a new date soon, and please bear with us until then as we are unable to offer further information at this time.”

However, Zlatan has already signed a contract with “Los Angeles” and most likely in April he will become the ambassador of the brand Bethard.
