Boston-based daily fantasy sports platform DraftKings announced that its DFS product is now available in Australia. Starting today, customers in Australia can test their sports knowledge and DFS.
Getting licence by the Northern Territory Racing Commission in April, Australia becomes the company’s eighth international market and the first outside North America and Europe. Australian customers can compete against other players locally, as well as with those based in other countries where DraftKings is active.
The company expects that its football product will be particularly popular, given Australia’s participation in this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
“Australia is home to some of the most passionate sports fans in the world and that’s a key reason why DraftKings decided to open there. We’re confident Australians will enjoy the exciting and innovative competition formats we have available across ten international sports, and their ability to compete against other people, both local and international”, – DraftKings chief international officer Jeffrey Haas stated.Follow us on
