Catena bought football news site

Malta’s marketing company Catena has acquired Squawka, a global website of football news. The deal was worth £1 million (€1.1 million /$1.3 million).

Squawka, which attracts about four million unique users a month, was forced to take this step as it is experiencing financial difficulties.

Curiously, Catena Media recently made another major acquisition – an affiliate company Baybets. In Catena expect that the acquisition of Squawka will increase annual sales to about 2 million euros. These hopes are backed up by the dynamics of social networks Catena, as it had about 800,000 subscribers on Twitter and 750,000 on Facebook.
