Maja Vukotic, Betshah Affiliate Manager, in an exclusive interview

  1.       Tell us about your background and how did you end up working in the iGaming industry as Betshah affiliate manager?

I’m from Serbia and I may never have left the country but I have my finger on the pulse of the latest marketing trends – and it’s always pointing to the next big thing. So, after teaching Spanish and working in sales I realized the iGaming industry would be a great fit for my interest.

Since I had previous experience in sales and digital marketing, I knew I would be useful in the iGaming industry. I decided to make the transition and now I’m more than excited to continue to grow and learn in this industry.

  1.       You used to work in digital marketing before making the jump to the iGaming industry last year. Can you tell us why you decided to start working as Affiliate Manager for BetShah Casino?

My professional career started outside of the iGaming world. I studied Spanish and started working as a Spanish customer support agent in the sales industry. At the same time, I got an offer from a few friends of mine to start creating content for their affiliate website.

Of course, back in the time it was a small project, but I liked the idea and how it started growing so I stayed with them and was working on both sides, as agent and as content writer. Soon after I realized it was the best choice I have ever made in my life.

After I got a job offer at BetShah Casino I decided to leave the customer support job and I never looked back, the odds were definitely in my favor.

  1.       How much does your SEO knowledge help you in your new role as Affiliate Manager?

Well, it definitely makes things easier and faster. I’m putting all my effort to find new big partners and SEO tools help me see their results, progress and how affiliates stand with traffic.

I invest 50% of my time in finding big partners whose websites rank higher in search engine results pages. Additionally, I check their top pages, categories, and if they have up to date content.

  1.       You have also worked on affiliate websites, so you know the relationship between affiliate managers and affiliates from both sides. What do you think some of the keys are to making that relationship work for both sides and last?

Communication is the key in every relationship and open and positive approach can bring positive and beneficial future partnership. Also trust has a lot to do with it. BetShah affiliates can be sure their commissions will be paid on time because I’m highly focused on it and I hate when I have to beg for being paid so I don’t like others to wait for me either.

There is so much more but trust, communication and transparency are key components of any successful business relationship.

  1. What is it like working in the Indian iGaming market?

Indian players are a valuable source of revenue. We wanted to focus only on this market and provide the best possible service, focusing on only Indian players’ needs. Gambling industry is rapidly expanding and it’s no secret that Indian players have strong interest in online casinos.

At BetShah Indian players have even more options such as the opportunity to play their favorite games like Teen Patti and Andar Bahar.

Working with Indian people as Serbian can sometimes be challenging, coming from a completely different cultural background. However, I have found a few ways that help me effectively communicate and negotiate to secure good deals with Indian partners.

  1.     What do you enjoy most about your job as Affiliate Manager for BetShah Casino?

I enjoy working as affiliate manager because of its flexibility in allowing me to work remotely. I have already worked in corporations and I lost so much time and money on commuting.

Being part of BetShah gives me the opportunity to travel and visit conferences such as ICE and iGB Affiliate London we’re attending next month. Also, my role allows me to negotiate with high value partners and work on brand branding, which is both challenging and rewarding.

Overall, I’m grateful for the flexibility and variety my job offers.

  1.       BetShah, the company you represent, is a relative newcomer to the market. Why do you think players and affiliates would be interested in it?

BetShah accepts only Indian players so this means we are highly focused on satisfying everything an Indian player needs for authentic gaming experience. I can say we are competitive on the market for offering all payment options an Indian could possibly use: UPI, GPay, PhonoPe, PayTm, Imps and Crypto.

Besides, everything is designed in a way that an Indian player will immediately recognize the site as one where he is welcome. Being able to make deposits and withdrawals in Indian Rupees and having a website in Hindi is also a big plus.
