– Tell us about Parimatch’s origins- where did the idea for the business come from?
Sergey: It takes passion and devotion to what you love to start a business. This was very much the case when Parimatch was founded 25 years ago. Betting is in our founder’s blood, so he decided to turn his passion into a career, launching Parimatch built on values and ethics which were not as common back then as they are today – honesty, reliability and trust. Based on these values, Parimatch quickly gained the respect and trust of both its customers and partners, eventually becoming one of the most recognized betting brands in the CIS region.
– Parimatch is well known across the CIS region, are you looking to expand into other countries and if so where?
Sergey: At the moment we are firmly focused on consolidating and building our market position in the CIS region. Due to the growth of the betting industry in the area, there are ample opportunities for us to grow our revenue and brand – our aim is to reach 20% market share in CIS.
All that said, here at Parimatch, our fighting spirit means that we never say never! At the moment we are working on developing our software so that it can be scaled internationally. We are increasing awareness of Parimatch globally through an internationally focused brand relaunch. We have also partnered with globally recognized organizations and sporting megastars such as the sponsoring of UFC, and brand ambassador agreements with Conor McGregor and Mike Tyson. All this helps us to attract potential partners in new markets. Our sights are set on Greece and the USA, so watch this space!
– How are you planning on attracting new customers?
Sergey: Our acquisition and retention teams have constantly got their eyes on the latest trends so that we can attract new customers. Parimatch is always developing new experiences and incentives to give our customers the best betting experience. In addition to using automated fraud detection programmers, Parimatch employs specialists whose primary task is to pre-assess the quality of each account created. Looking to the future, Parimatch plans to implement “fingerprint technology,” which can detect the unique online “imprint” of internet users. Thanks to this innovative technology, it will be possible to track and act against large scale fraudsters.
