Caesars Entertainment will open non-gaming resort

In 2017, Caesars Entertainment faced the threat of bankruptcy, so the company’s executives decided to change tactics and conclude a deal with the government of the emirate of Dubai to build a non-gaming facility.

Gambling is banned in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf states where the local populations are overwhelmingly Muslim, but the region has a large expatriate population, and Morse said Caesars expected some of its Gulf customers would be drawn to its U.S. gaming resorts.

The collaboration between Caesars Entertainment and Dubai based developer Meraas will see two luxury hotels, a conference centre and brand new beach club all open later this year. Although no details of what this will look like are being released, if it’s anything like the famous Las Vegas version we’re expecting some pretty lavish, roman-inspired decor.

Caesars plans to open even more hotels in new markets through licensing and management agreements. Other projects in the company’s pipeline include an integrated resort in Incheon, South Korea, which is currently in development, and a meetings and conference center planned for Las Vegas. Caesars also recently began construction on a new Harrah’s in Northern California.
