Kenya will ban unlicensed slot machines

The Kenyan government will make a number of changes to the existing law on gambling to stop the proliferation of unlicensed gaming machines throughout the country.

Such measures are aimed at slot machines of foreign investors. The changes made oblige investors to obtain licenses for slot machines if they want to continue working in Kenya.

In order to obtain an activity permit will be charged a deposit fee of $387.03 to $193 517. The legislation also proposes more stringent sanctions for the illegal use of gambling machines. The penalty is planned to increase from $ 8.53 to $19 351 or imprisonment for up to two years.
