Besides lucrative tennis tournaments, international betting operator Betway announced a major sponsorship deal with relegated Bundesliga football team Schalke 04. The former UEFA Cup winners which are based in Gelsenkirchen are a traditional German football power and are expected to return to the first tier league. Betway signed a three year sponsorship deal with the Royal Blues becoming their new premium partner.
The partnership, which commences on July 1, will see the brand have a presence around the VELTINS-Arena for the next three seasons.
Betway’s Head of Marketing for Germany Maik Brodowski commented on the sponsorship deal: “It’s a great honour to be partnering with FC Schalke 04, one of the most recognised names in German football. We look forward to supporting the club and their ambitions to work their way back to the Bundesliga. In the following years, the premium partnership provides Betway with extensive advertising and marketing rights.
Schalke’s board member for Marketing, Sales & Organization Alexander Jobst confirmed,: “Together with Betway we agreed on a long-term partnership, which guarantees us security through the new legal regulation of gaming in Germany. We are delighted to have gained a strong partner in Betway in this everchanging competitions.”
