First online gambling bill introduced in West Virginia

West Virginia introduced its first online gambling bill, H.B. 3067, March 14 which would legalize and regulate online gambling, reported Online Poker Report.

The bill was introduced on Tuesday by Democratic Delegate Shawn Fluharty. It is currently under the consideration of the House Judiciary Committee. Poker is the only specific written into the bill, though it does imply other forms of online gambling would be included with the phrase “interactive gaming.”

Licensed gaming facilities and race tracks would be able to apply for an internet gambling license for a fee of $50,000, along with a tax rate at 14% of gross gaming revenue.
