Electronic Arts under investigation from the Belgian Gaming Commission

Created by the Californian giants of the video game Electronic Arts (EA) the new game Star Wars Battlefront II did not have time to go out, as it immediately led to criticism for the introduction of virtual loot boxes. This was the subject of an investigation by the Belgian Gambling Commission.

Critics complain that the real money aspect is a form of gambling, and the age certificate of games should be displayed accordingly. At present, the age is 16+.

«Games of chance cannot be compared to any other kind of economic services. They may cause people to become addicted to gambling and cause them to lose a great deal of money. For this reason, a number of protective measures have been implemented to protect players against these sorts of potential risks», – commented in Belgian Gambling Commission.
