Portuguese regulator Comissão de Jogos do Turismo de Portugal granted a new iGaming license to GM Gaming Ltd, Betway’s Malta-based office, permitting the operator to offer sports betting and online casino in Portugal via the Betway.pt website.
Betway joins the likes of Betclick, 888, Luckia and Pokerstars which are already active in the Portuguese market offering sports betting services, and online casino games like roulette, slots and blackjack.
The Malta-based iGaming provider Betway is licensed in the UK, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Sweden besides Malta and will help Portugal’s online gaming market to grow further. As announced for the fourth quarter of 2019, Portugal had the highest revenue figure (€65.4m) helping full-year GGR grow 41% to €215.2m.
