Casino complex in Belfast – to be or not to be

Belfast City Council takes a public consultation on the construction of a casino in the Northern Ireland capital worth £300 million.

Belfast Telegraf states that the two leading casino operators have already held discussions with political and business leaders in the construction of the hotel complex and casino, and the Ranking Group had previously expressed interest in potential construction.

Belfast Councilman Jim McVeigh expressed own opinion: “A consultation is an assessment of the views of people from Belfast and people in our tourism and hospitality sector. We must weigh everything – 300 million pounds sterling and 1000 jobs. These guys are serious, and they are very interested in getting here. The size is huge, financially and physically. Jobs will be very significant”.
