Colombia legalized online gambling

Columbia’s gambling regulator Coljuegos issued the first license to make online gambling activities in the country. The license was the company Wplay.co, which belongs to the manufacturer of electronic game machines Aquila Global Group.

Local authorities are preparing to block the work of unlicensed companies in the country. Earlier this year, the authorities submitted a list of 325 online operators that offered gambling services for local players without a license.

Operators wishing to work in Colombia must obtain a license that includes a 15 percent tax rate on the total revenue from games.
