Cyprus plans to build the first casino

The gambling company Melco International Development plans to build the first casino resort in Cyprus west of Limassol overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

It is expected that this complex will end in 2021 and it will become the largest in Europe. This should increase the proportion of tourists on the island to 300,000 tourists. This was stated by Lawrence Ho, chairman of Melco International Development Limited, which owns 70.74% of the project shares. The remaining 29.6% belong to the local GNS company.

Thanks to the opening of the casino, the economy of Cyprus will reach about 700 million euros a year two years after the introduction of the casino, which will be about 4% of the country’s annual GDP.

The complex will have a hotel for 500 rooms, 11 restaurants and cafeterias, a shopping area, a health and sports center with a total area of ​​9600 sq.m.
