Gamenet Group acquires GoldBet

Italian gaming team Gamenet Group announced the purchase of Italian operator GoldBet for €265 million.

Gambling experts believe that this acquisition of 100% of the share capital of GoldBet will allow Gamenet to become the largest network in Italy, and to increase the number of its retail outlets to 1,700.

GoldBet operates a physical network of 990 betting shops and also holds the concession for the collection of “online” games and bets, even including mobile platforms. The combined entity would also control 7% of Italy’s online betting market and a one-third share of the lucrative virtual betting sector.

Paola Bausano, CEO of GoldBet, commented: “This transaction represents a major opportunity for the two companies and will allow us to exploit the synergies and know-how of both companies. I am happy to be part of this project, ensuring continuity, but at the same time developing new projects for an ambitious joint growth”.
