Normative changes about sports betting and rules for online bingo will take in a force in the near future in Italy, says Rodolfo La Rosa of the law firm Baker & McKenzie.
“A few days ago, the government made positive conclusions regarding the draft of a new law that could improve the system. The maximum win at fixed rates will increase from €10 thousand to €50 thousand; and the minimum rate will decrease from €2 to €1”, – La Rosa said at the ICE Totally Gaming.
Giulio Coraggio of DLA Piper, a multinational law firm, in turn, noted four main points of the regulations:
– rules regarding obvious violations of the acceptance of rates;
– potential offer of Asian bets with a handicap;
– ability to issue cash currency;
– possibility of awarding higher maximum wins.
The Italian authorities allowed any variant of bingo, which means increased control and flexibility for operators.
