Japan officially legalized casino gaming on December 26 and although a number of major operators have declared an interest in opening facilities in the country. Now the Japanese government has commenced work on a second piece of legislation that sets out further regulations regarding casino gambling in the country.
The Government of Japan has assembled an working group to draft a new bill, which includes legislators, economists and other experts. Till the government has not approved the timeframe, it is expected that the legislative part will be approved before the end of the year. At that time, international operators of the gambling business are stepping up lobbying efforts in the country.
