Japanese must pay $74 to visit casinos

Japanese need to pay 6,000 yen (S$74) at the door, and are allowed to visit casinos up to three times a week and a maximum of 10 times a month. This amount was approved by a working group of the two ruling parties of the country.

Initially, the government offered to set a fee of 2,000 yen, but the party of Komeito insisted on the entrance fee on a par with Singapore. The admission fee will apply to citizens of the state and foreigners residing in Japan.

The Liberal Democratic Party also discussed other issues related to the regulation of casino activities. The government and the ruling parties want to receive a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on bills in April and consider it during the current session of the Diet.
