Gambling in Latvia is rapidly gaining popularity. Last week, Latvian Ministry of Finance drafted a bill on a check lottery, designed to strengthen the control of tax revenues, and to increase annual tax revenues from gambling by €3 million.
The budget of Latvia for 2018 provides for the development of equipment for amount of €200 thousand. In case of successful adoption of the law, from June 1 of the next year it will come into force and a test period will begin to operate until March 2021.
A participant of such a lottery can become anyone who makes a purchase and registers on a special Internet portal. Once a week, 10 prizes are awarded for €200, once a month – €3 thousand.
