Mesut called his team Team Ozil. Participants of the organization will perform at all official competitions from EA Sports. For a whole year, the Arsenal midfielder followed the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series. Now he is watching the final stage of the tournament, for which he starred in a commercial.
Ozil is not the first who wants to create his own eSports team. In June 2018, the defender of “Leicester City” Christian Fuchs announced his intention to collect the squad. Esports units have Schalke 04, Besiktas, Manchester City and many other clubs.
