PokerStars introduces Split Hold’em

The largest poker site PokerStars announced the change of the classic Texas Hold’em format with the help of Split Hold’em.

If you’ve played Texas Hold’em before, or seen it on TV, the rules of Split Hold’em are easy to pick up as the games are very similar. The crucial difference – as the name suggests – is that the community cards are split into two separate boards.

The new format uses the idea of regular Texas Hold’em, but with two flops, thorns and rivers. In order to win the entire pot, a player must either show down a winning hand on both boards or force all of his or her opponents to fold before showdown. A player showing down a winner on one board will be entitled to half of the pot.

The introduction of Split Hold’em will also be for PokerStars the start of “Seat Me” Global System. It will stop table selection and using scripts.
