UFC 327 Preview: Why Prochazka’s is the Betting Favorite Over Ulberg

The highly anticipated UFC 327 event in Miami tonight features a light heavyweight title fight between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg, and the betting markets are firmly favoring Prochazka. Despite his history of taking punishment, Prochazka’s devastating one-shot power has made him the favorite at BetMGM, where he is priced at -115 (58% of bets, 31% of handle). Ulberg, meanwhile, is at -105 (42% of bets, 69% of handle).

Prochazka, who has lost twice to Alex Pereira, now has a chance to finally claim the vacant light heavyweight title. The 33-year-old fighter, known for his aggressive and unpredictable style, boasts a record of 6-2 in the UFC, with 28 wins by knockout, including 23 first-round finishes. His ability to absorb punishment while delivering explosive strikes makes him a formidable opponent.

Ulberg, a technically skilled fighter, presents a tough challenge for Prochazka. The fight promises to be a clash of styles, with Prochazka’s pressure and power against Ulberg’s precision. Prochazka’s resilience is a standout factor, as he lands 5.69 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 5.60. Ulberg, meanwhile, lands 6.54 significant strikes per minute but absorbs fewer (4.04).

Prochazka’s confidence is evident, as he stated earlier: “I believe I can show a much more precise performance and win the belt,” he told Sportsnet, adding that he still aims for another shot at Pereira someday.

Beyond the main event, the most bet prop at BetMGM is Azamat Murzakanov by KO/TKO or DQ at +200 in his light heavyweight bout against Paulo Costa. Other notable props include Vicente Luque by decision (+550), Josh Hokit (+100) in his heavyweight bout against Curtis Blaydes, and Dominick Reyes (-165) in his fight against Johnny Walker.

The undercard is also drawing significant attention, particularly the heavyweight bout between Josh Hokit and Curtis Blaydes. Hokit, priced at +100 (52% of bets, 61% of handle), is looking to build on his recent wins, while Blaydes, a veteran with experience against champions like Francis Ngannou and Tom Aspinall, is favored at -120.

UFC 327 begins at 9 p.m. EST tonight at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and the betting action is already intense.
