UK plans to increase tax on gambling

One of the two leading political parties in Great Britain is considering the possibility of an additional tax on gambling for the benefit of funding the National Health Service (NHS).

The tax provides for the replacement of the system of voluntary donations of the GambleAware organization. The option of introducing a compulsory gambling tax to fund treatment programs for Ludomans also considered.

“Companies collect statistical data for planning business strategies aimed at attracting low-income people and formerly gambling-dependent. More than half of the companies receive income from the pockets of so-called risky players and this should stop. Operators should be brought to financial responsibility for the abuse of people’s trust”, – said representative of Labor Party Tom Watson.
