VAR is a “license to kill”

A lot of people say that football is a game of mistakes. This means that everybody can make mistakes, including the referee! If football fans cannot accept this, it is mostly their problem and, perhaps, they should start watching sports with minor refereeing like snooker, or chess.

Of course there are times, when referees are fixed and push one of the teams to win but not in such high level tournaments. Adding VAR gives even more power to the referee and at the end is not helping the sport to grow.

Referee Damir Scomina decided with the help of VAR to destroy the Champions League final. He gave a penalty kick at 23 seconds in the game and put one of the teams behind by using his “licensed to kill VAR”.

For Tottenham it was fate! VAR helped them to go to the final and VAR put them behind in the score with the result being the Liverpool winning the trophy and their fans singing “You’ll never walk alone”. There are two games now for Nations League and one round or Euro qualifiers and the football season finally takes its short summer break!
