We’re two episodes deep into the last season of Game of Thrones, and not much has happened yet. That is all about to change.
With such a high popularity of GoT, it’s not a surprise having bookmakers offering betting odds on various future events. Today we will look into potential first death in episode 3. Odds are offered by Bovada (in-depth review here) and we assume that ‘first” means someone among characters listed by a bookmaker, as there is a lot of options (Samwell Tarly, Jorah Mormont, and more) not listed.
Episode three looks to be the first big battle and battle with the Night King will probably be a bloodbath. Unfortunately, the majority of European bookies are offering only ‘Who will rule Westeros’ market. Maybe we will look into it next time though.
Things don’t look good for someone like Theon Greyjoy (2.3 to die first) who looks like a very popular pick among bettors. Not only he is putting himself squarely between the Night King and Bran, but it would seem that all of the other characters have larger storylines that still have to play out.
The second most popular pick to die is Jaime Lannister (4.0 to die first), as his fighting skills have certainly been diminished by the loss of his good hand. Plus he has many enemies still existing.
According to bookmakers the safest characters at the moment are Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark (both 25.0 to die first). But is there anyone really safe in GoT world?
