55 percent of Americans supported the legalization of sports betting on the territory of the United States of America. This is stated in a survey that organized jointly Washington Post and the University of Lowell (Massachusetts). 33% of Americans opposed the legalization of gambling.
According to the results of the social survey, over the past five years, 26% of men and 15% of women have at least once bet on professional sports events in the field of football, basketball and baseball. Similar indicators and rates for fantasy games – 22% of men and 9% of women responded positively.
The initiators of the poll said that there is a change in the attitude of citizens of the country to such events, if we take for comparison a similar survey from 1993, when the law of PASPA came into force. At that time only 41% of respondents supported sports betting, 56% were against.
