The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) decided to cancel Pick Mister’s B2C gaming license (pickMister.com) , since the operator failed to pay the license fees for 2019. As a result of the license breach pickmister.com is no longer authorized to carry out any gaming operations, register new players or accept new customer deposits, and must immediately cease operations.
The regulator ordered Pick Mister to provide all registered player access to their accounts as well as refunding customer balances and any money owed. According to MGA Pick Mister breached section 9 (1) of the country’s Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, specifically paragraphs C and I.
Paragraph C is in reference to the failure to comply with one or more applicable obligations in terms of regulations or laws in Malta, following failure to submit a completed compliance contribution calculator and player fund reports for the period of August 2019 to February 2020 within stipulated time-frames. Meanwhile, paragraph I refers to the failure to pay a licence fee of €10,000 (£9,140/$11,000) for the year 2019.
The MGA noted that Pick Mister could be permitted to appeal against the ruling.
