In response to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Rasmus Sojmark has launched a fundraiser looking to raise money for humanitarian aid in Ukraine through “Choose Love”. The gaming industry comes in support to Ukraine and its people via this GoFundMe campaign:
SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark said on this initiative: “Last week I posted about the time we spent in Ukraine recently, our beloved Ukrainian team members, an our amazing partners in the country. My own company SBC Sports Betting Community has supported and facilitated business in Kiev over the past couple of years which we’ll continue to do.
It’s time to act now which is why several organizations within the gambling sector have been working together to set up a mechanism to enable everyone to help the Ukrainian people at this time, via this GoFundMe campaign. Special thanks to Karolina Pelc-Steenkamp, Shona ODonnell, Kelly Kehn, Andrew McCarron and David Knight for tirelessly pushing this forward”.
Rasmus admitted that his team looked at a number of charities, but decided to direct the support to Choose Love: “From our research they do good work, and are able to put to work the money they receive very quickly and very efficiently. “Choose Love does whatever it takes to provide refugees and displaced people with everything from lifesaving search and rescue boats to food and legal advice.” If you would like to join us in giving whatever you can, we welcome you to do so through our GoFundMe to show together what we as an industry are doing to help”.
