The seventh operator granted a license for gambling in Portugal

This week, the Portuguese regulator of gambling, Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ), issued the seventh license to provide online gambling services. Sociedade Figueira Praia, a Portuguese company specializing in betting and casinos, was the last to receive a license from SRIJ. The operator will provide players with options for online gambling and sports betting under the brand Casino Portugal.

The operators of sports betting in Portugal are subject to an exorbitant tax of between 8% and 16% of turnover, and the number of licensed bookmakers in the country is small. Casino and poker are taxed from 15% to 30% of the total income, which also binds small and medium-sized operators.
