Bethard secures Spanish gaming licence

Bethard launched a Spanish version of its website after receiving a licence from the Spanish regulator (DGOJ). The operator’s brand ambassador Zlatan Ibrahimović announced the launch of the site on his Twitter feed.

The launch declaration follows several Ibrahimovic posts which were indicating his plans to come back to Spain and play again in La Liga. Zlatan was playing for FC Barcelona during 2009/2010 season but after a disappointing year at Camp Nou, he moved back to Italian Serie A and joined AC Milan.

The most famous Swedish player has finished his series of tweets revealing that it’s not him but Bethard Group which will be coming to Spain to offer its gambling services in the regulated local market.

The company higher-ups also confirmed the announcement.

“We are very pleased to continue our growth journey in Spain, a market with lots of potential. Even though we have experienced short term challenges as a consequence of operating in regulated markets, we still believe that long term value and stability resides in such jurisdictions,” announced Erik Skarp, CEO of Bethard Group.

Bethard is also currently licenced in Sweden, UK, Ireland, Denmark and Malta. The company is evaluating other markets in Europe and is expected to have a legal presence in most of the key markets by 2021.
