Buzz Bingo is making major moves as it relocates its digital business to Gibraltar while acquiring two UK-based clubs from the Merkur brand, owned by Gauselmann Group. The switch to Gibraltar, according to Buzz Bingo, brings several strategic benefits. These include proximity to key suppliers and a solid foundation for exploring international opportunities. The move also aligns with the company’s omnichannel growth strategy. In 2023, Buzz Bingo reported a 5% increase in retail revenue, alongside a notable 31% growth in online revenue.

“With growing demand for Bingo and our exceptional online performance, Buzz Bingo is positioning itself for accelerated growth,” said CEO Dominic Mansour. “This relocation is key to our plan to solidify our position as the UK’s number one choice for bingo across both online and retail platforms.”

Buzz Bingo Completes Acquisition of Two UK Clubs

Buzz Bingo has finalized its acquisition of two major UK bingo clubs from Merkur, including the country’s largest venue in Cricklewood. The two venues, previously owned by the Gauselmann family, were acquired for an estimated £15m to £20m, according to industry sources.

In 2023, the Cricklewood and Northampton clubs attracted over 410,000 visitors, paying out more than £1 million in winnings each month. The Cricklewood club also boasts the Guinness World Record for the largest single bingo house prize of £100,000.

This acquisition comes on the heels of the opening of Buzz Bingo’s first boutique high street club in Borehamwood, which is aimed at a younger audience. The new club has already exceeded performance expectations in its first few weeks.

“There’s a growing number of new bingo players, and our fun, digitally enhanced retail sites are attracting a fresh fanbase,” said Dominic Mansour, Buzz Bingo’s CEO. “The acquisition and the launch of our streaming concept show the positive momentum as we execute our turnaround strategy.” Mansour emphasized the company’s omnichannel approach, combining the best of retail and online bingo to solidify Buzz Bingo’s position as the nation’s top bingo destination.
