According to US comedian Doug Stanhope, following a one-star review of Caesars Entertainment’s Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, he is now banned from every property in the firm’s portfolio.
Stanhope recently took to social media to rant about the fact that the entertainment giant had addressed to him a letter informing him of the wide-area ban and also claims that the ban is the result of his having written a one-star rating of the Rio on TripAdvisor and Yelp.
Stanhope had supposedly stayed over at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in February and had been so shocked by the poor service and general feel of the experience.
“The rumor is that this hotel is about to be torn down. Staying here will make an ardent atheist pray that this is true. You can even see it in the eyes of the employees. As friendly as they are, you can tell that nobody wants to be here,” he posted in his review provocatively named ‘Because who reads a two-star review.’
“The Rio is like being in 1986. By that I mean it’s like you were still driving your 1986 Ford Tempo 33 years later, held together with gaffer’s tape and surgical mesh, riding on the rusted rims. Vegas isn’t what it used to be, anyone who’s come here over the last two or three decades can attest. The Rio isn’t even what it was when they last updated their Expedia page,” added Stanhope.
The letter he received is yet to be confirmed as legitimate, so there’s a possibility that the whole thing is a publicity stunt set up by the comedian, who had four comedy albums top the Billboard comedy charts during his almost 30 years long career.
