Better Collective expands US presence with website acquisitions

Sports betting affiliate Better Collective has, through its wholly-owned US subsidiary, acquired the assets of Florida based Vegasinsider.com and Scoresandodds.com for a total cash transaction of $20m.

Stockholm-listed company will add the two websites to its portfolio of iGaming affiliate sites in the US to benefit from the ongoing regulation of online sports betting.

Vegasinsider.com and Scoresandodds.com operate on a business model based on the revenue from user subscriptions, sale of picks, and advertising, However, under Better Collective, the system will move toward an affiliate marketing model. Both websites attracted more than 15m unique visits per month during the National Football League’s (NFL) 2018/2019 season.

“With the acquisition of the two mega-brands, VegasInsider.com and ScoresAndOdds.com, Better Collective is paving the way to expand the position as the market leading sports betting information company to include the US,” said Jesper Søgaard, chief executive and co-founder of Better Collective.

The new owner will overhaul the VegasInsider.com and ScoresAndOdds.com sites to facilitate regulated affiliate marketing and related revenue from the states that allow online sports betting. The two sites are expected to send traffic to licensed operators starting with the third quarter of this year, with the overhaul expected to be completed during the second half of 2020. However, during the transitional period until the overhaul is complete, revenue and earnings from the sites will be temporarily reduced.
