FanDuel and The Greenbrier have finalized an agreement for FanDuel to provide a retail, online and mobile sports wagering service at The Greenbrier.
West Virginia lawmakers this year approved sports betting at the state’s five casinos and on approved mobile apps, shortly before the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal law that had banned most sports betting.
The licence fee in West Virginia is set at $100,000 (€85,500) and casinos are required to pay the state 10% of sports betting revenue in taxes, according to Legal Sports Report.
Matt King, CEO of FanDuel, commented: “We are honored to be chosen to provide sports wagering services at The Greenbrier, an iconic resort in the U.S. As we work towards building out a top sports betting product for the upcoming NFL season, we look forward to bringing West Virginia residents, sports fans, and visitors to The Greenbrier the best interactive sports experience on the market”.
