FanDuel Group and Sportradar officially announced an extension of their partnership to make FanDuel the first betting operator in the US to live-stream sports and offer betting odds via its website and mobile app.
This agreement follows a successful trial at a major tennis tournament. FanDuel will now acquire non-exclusive streaming rights to soccer’s German Bundesliga and mid-level tennis matches. Sportradar’s Live Channel will be included directly into the FanDuel Sportsbook interface, incorporating live events with betting lines and data, now with the added functionality to actually place a live wager on the event that sports fans are viewing.
“The ability to live stream professional sports inside our sports betting product will provide our customers with a first class betting experience,” said Niall Connell, General Manager, FanDuel Sportsbook. “By making Sportradar’s Live Channel Online available alongside our betting markets, FanDuel Sportsbook continues to be the premiere sports destination in the ever growing sports betting industry.”
Non-exclusive streaming rights allow rival companies of FanDuel to also partner with Sportradar and gain similar access to the content.
According to Reuters, the service will only be available in New Jersey for now, but FanDuel has plans to offer live streaming in more states that allow mobile sports betting.
