Four Seasons Macau suffers Hollywood-like robbery

Two robbers have stolen HK$3 million ($340k) in chips from the Plaza Casino of Four Seasons Macau Hotel after a stunning morning raid on Friday. However, the Judiciary Police (PJ), in cooperation with mainland China authorities, already arrested four suspects.

According to police, a croupier and a security guard were incapacitated by the robbers’ pepper spray, who then got away with stolen chips from a roulette table. Crime was reported to officials around 5:30 AM on Friday.

Later that day, during the special press conference, police authorities indicated that they have arrested four mainland Chinese, three men and a woman, having also apprehended several stolen goods, including cash, chips and mobile phones.

According to the police, after the robbery, the two men passed the money to the woman in a case, with the suspect then said to have crossed the Gongbei Border to Zhuhai. The police now expect to charge three of the suspects of robbery, use of banned weapons and aggravated assault, with the woman to be charged for holding stolen goods.

This whole incident happened just a week after four men were stabbed outside the Four Seasons hotel. One of the victims, a 40-years old man, was declared dead afterwards. However, during the same press conference on Friday, the police also announced arresting four mainland men, suspected of having been involved in the murder case. Police authorities believe that the incident involved two criminal groups engaged in prostitution exploration activities.
