Manchester City inks eight-figure deal with Marathonbet for training kit sponsorship

Marathonbet is on a sponsorship streak and becomes first ever Manchester City training kit sponsor. Right after becoming Real Madrid’s official betting partner in Russia, the online bookmaker extended their deal with another European football giant Manchester City.

Marathonbet, a betting partner of the Premier League champion, has been promoted and became the first ever kit sponsor of the Citizens in an eight-figure worth deal. Manchester City and their global betting partner for the past 18 months, decided to extend and elevate their partnership.

The new sponsorship deal will involve both men’s and women’s teams of the club, but not the academy ones. The shirts of City’s youth teams will promote “City Football Foundation”.

Manchester City’s chief operating officer Omar Berrada said on the new deal: “Launching our first training kit partner is a significant moment for Manchester City and we are delighted to be doing this with our existing partner, Marathonbet”.

The Chief Executive of Marathonbet Natalia Zavodnik added: “We are delighted to be strengthening our partnership today as Marathonbet also becomes the club’s first ever official training kit partner. We have been offering fans around the world the chance to benefit from our unique giveaways, competitions and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”

The end of 2019 finds both partners in a busy commercial schedule. Marathonbet signed the deals with Real Madrid and Manchester City, while the Premier League champions holding company City Football Group (CFG) sold just over ten per cent in the company to Silicon Valley-based technology investing firm Silver Lake for $500 million, as well as purchasing Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Mumbai City.

During November City announced a record turnover of £535.2 million, which means that the club showed revenue growth for the 11th consecutive year under CFG ownership.
