North Korea has allowed betting on horse racing

The strict government of North Korea legalized betting on horse racing in order to fill the state treasury.

Moreover, people who have reached the age of 12 will be able to play the lottery, provided that they use foreign currency – yuan or dollar. According to the state edition of KCNA, bets on horse racing have already been accepted in Mirim Horse Racing Club, located near the capital – Pyongyang.

Until October 14th North Korean citizens were forbidden to bet on horse races. It is known that there are only a few casinos operating in the region, but only foreigners are permitted to enter institutions.
