Swedens Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has issued a definitive blacklist against Novatech, the operator behind multiple unlicensed gambling websites targeting Swedish players. The regulatory action marks another significant enforcement measure in Swedens ongoing crackdown on unauthorized gaming operations within its borders.
The blacklist decision follows an intensive inspection conducted between February 23-25, 2026, during which regulators examined a comprehensive list of domains operated by Novatech. The investigation revealed that the company’s digital properties were actively targeting the Swedish domestic market without possessing the required Swedish gaming licence.
During the inspection process, investigators found that players accessing these sites from Swedish IP addresses were presented with Swedish country code domain extensions by default during the registration process. This targeting of Swedish players was deemed to be a clear indication that the operator was actively seeking customers from the Swedish market despite not holding a Swedish gambling license.
Domains Under Investigation
Regulators reviewed several prominent gambling domains during the inspection, including qbet.com, mangacasino.com, slotexpress.com, 55bet.com, and 30bet.com. Each of these platforms was found to be accepting Swedish players while operating outside the framework of Swedens regulated gaming market.
The regulator said the overall evidence suggested the Novatech-operated sites were clearly targeting Swedish players, despite the operator not holding a local licence, according to the official statement from Spelinspektionen. The regulator emphasized that targeting Swedish consumers without proper licensing constitutes a serious violation of the country’s gaming laws designed to protect players.
Second Regulatory Action This Week
This blacklist marks the second time in less than a week that Novatech has faced regulatory action from European gaming authorities. The consecutive enforcement actions signal an intensifying scrutiny of the operators European business operations, particularly in markets with stringent licensing requirements like Sweden.
Swedens regulated gaming market, established in 2019, requires all operators serving Swedish players to obtain licences from Spelinspektionen and comply with strict advertising and player protection regulations. The blacklist effectively prohibits Swedish internet service providers from hosting the targeted domains, cutting off access for domestic players.
Operators found in violation of the licensing requirements face significant penalties, including website blocking, financial fines, and inclusion on the nations blacklist. The blacklist mechanism allows Swedish internet service providers to block access to unlicensed gambling websites, effectively preventing Swedish players from accessing these platforms.
