The Belgian gambling regulator (BGC) showed the financial report on the gambling market for 2016 year. According to BGC, gambling revenues in the country grew by 17% year-on-year – or up to €622 million. The online gambling industry generated more than a third of total market revenue for the reporting period – up to €211.3 million.
Online casinos generated 41.2% more revenue than in the previous year – €78.6 million. The operators of Belgium’s land-based casinos reported an annual revenue growth of 7% year-on-year to €102.3 million.
