The first mobile sportsbook to be created, launched and operated by a media company in North America is TheScore Bet, which announced a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Association becoming an official NBA authorized sports betting operator.
TheScore Bet is a part of Toronto-based Score Media and Gaming, currently operating in New Jersey. The deal will give the operator access to official NBA betting data, including league marks and logos.
The two organizations are expected to work together to protect the integrity of NBA games.
Founder and CEO of TheScore John Levy said on the deal: “We’re delighted to work with the NBA to create new and exciting sports betting experiences for basketball fans. This collaboration will help us enhance our offering as we work to provide theScore’s highly engaged media app users a best-in-class integrated betting experience.”
Scott Kaufman-Ross, the NBA’s senior vice president, head of fantasy and gaming, added from his side: “TheScore is aligned with the NBA on our mission to create the best possible fan experience. This partnership will provide our passionate fans with deeper engagement from a company innovating across the spectrum of sports media and betting.”
The basketball league has also authorized NBA betting operators MGM Resorts International, William Hill, DraftKings, Tabcorp, BetEasy, Stars Group, Supermatch, Unibet and Codere.
