Copenhagen City Court upheld the order from the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) which will block access to 25 unlicensed gaming websites.
Local internet service providers are required now to prevent their customers from visiting accessing 10 igaming sites and 15 skin betting sites.
“We use our authority to block websites on an ongoing basis. We do this to protect the gaming providers who are actually authorised to offer games in Denmark, but also to protect the players” explained Spillemyndigheden director Birgitten Sand.
Among blocked igaming sites we find 1xBet, as well as range of domains operated by Game Tech Group’s Ramses Casino, Equinox Dynamic’s Nordic Casino, Alpha Interactive Solutions’ Casino Napoli, Mr James Casino, Usoftgaming’s Ph. Casino, Cashpot Casino, Orientxpresscasino and La Fiesta Casino.
Majority of banning orders have been however imposed on skin betting sites. According to Spillemyndigheden it is the second time it had secured an order to block access to this kind of sites after successfully blocked six of them in early 2018. Skin betting sites are websites where virtual items from computer games such as weapons or armour are used as collateral for betting.
“We will continue to work purposefully and persistently to find and block illegal skinbetting websites, although the work needed to document and block these sites tends to be complicated,” explained Spillemyndigheden director.
