SuomiVeto Taps Kambi for Finland Sportsbook Launch

Finland emerging betting market has attracted another major player, with startup SuomiVeto signing a comprehensive partnership agreement with B2B sportsbook provider Kambi Group. The deal marks SuomiVeto preparation for the Nordic country transition to a multi-licence gambling framework.

The Finnish Gambling Act, approved by parliament in December and signed into law last month, will finally open the market to private operators in July 2027. SuomiVeto, established specifically to target this opportunity, will leverage Kambi complete turnkey sportsbook infrastructure.

Our ambition is to become one of Finland leading sportsbooks, and with Kambi Turnkey Sportsbook solution and our bold marketing strategy, we are confident we can achieve that from day one, said Melvin Bostelaar, SuomiVeto co-founder.

The Finnish market holds significant potential. According to H2 Gambling Capital, the regulated sector peaked at €1.8 billion in 2017 before declining as players migrated to unlicensed alternatives. The new regulatory regime aims to recapture this activity through licensed channels.

For Kambi, the partnership represents a strategic expansion in Northern Europe. The Sweden-headquartered provider already serves Finnish operator PAF in the Åland Islands region, but this marks its first deal specifically targeting the mainland market opening.

Werner Becher, Kambi Group CEO, commented: With our Turnkey Sportsbook and extensive experience supporting launches in newly regulated markets, SuomiVeto will be well positioned for long-term sportsbook growth.

The Finnish market will begin accepting B2C licence applications from March 2026, giving operators time to prepare their platforms ahead of the July 2027 launch date.
