After a lengthy process marred by multiple delays Italy’s ‘Agenzia delle dogane e dei monopoli’ (ADM) has finally granted the concessions for the provision of online gambling services in the county.
ADM, the governing body overseeing Italian gambling laws, has revised Italy’s online gambling laws and settled on sanctioning 67 new online gambling concessions valid until December 31, 2022.
Back in February, the ADM has already renewed online licenses for Italian operators, Snaitech, Lottomatica, Sisal, Eurobet, Goldbet, Stanleybet and Microgame. Local operators are now joined by established foreign companies, which all secured new ADM approvals William Hill, bet365, bwin, Pokerstars and Betfair.
There are also new faces to the Italian sports betting market with Smarkets, Pinnacle and Energybet all securing online licenses. The ADM finished its online licensing procedure having secured a reported €13.4 million in concessions for the Italian tax authorities, amounted at €200,000 per registered applicant.
