Austria-based Novomatic Group, the supplier of gaming equipment and solutions, has agreed to sell its Gaming Technology Group (NTG) of Novomatic UK to Inspired Entertainment Inc in a deal worth around $120 million paid in the EUR equivalent (€107 million)
Inspired is a supplier of Category B2/B3 gaming terminals in the UK, and NTG is a supplier of Category B3, C and D gaming terminals to pubs, arcades, motorway service areas and holiday resorts in the UK.
Following the transaction, Inspired said it would be positioned to supply an extensive range of products and services across the UK and Europe, and beyond. Upon closing the acquisition, the firm would manage more than 75,000 gaming machines in the UK and Europe.
“The potential acquisition of NTG is transformational for Inspired, enabling us to dramatically increase the size, scale and scope of our business by combining our highly complementary, but largely non-overlapping, businesses. We expect to leverage our superior game content, technology, operational capabilities and respective footprints to augment the existing growth trends for our enterprise,” said Lorne Weil, Executive Chairman of Inspired Entertainment.
The gaming technology business of Novomatic UK comprises Gamestec Leisure, Playnation Ltd, Astra Games Ltd, Bell-Fruit Group Ltd, Harlequin Gaming Ltd and Innov8 Gaming Ltd. However, Novomatic UK will keep the casino assets of Astra Games, primarily a supplier to casinos.
The transaction still has to be approved by regulators and is subject to normal closing conditions. If everything is in order and the deal doesn’t run into any obstacles, it could be completed during the third quarter of 2019.Follow us on
