Ukrainian hockey players may be disqualified for life

This news was announced by the vice-president of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation (FHU) Georgy Zubko. Two hockey players of the national team of Ukraine Eduard Zakharchenko and Vladimir Varivoda can be disqualified for life for intention to surrender the World Cup 2017 to South Korea. FHU disqualified both players in August 2017.

However, Zubko does not exclude the use of milder sanctions from the International Hockey Federation.

“We want to help athletes in stopping such processes for the subsequent development of hockey in Ukraine. This is especially important for the younger generation! People unofficially talk about how it happens, what matches there were. We have a lot of information, and we needed to stir it up to clear our pond, as far as it is possible today”, – concluded Georgy Zubko.
