Amaya Inc have confirmed the appointment of Robin Chhabra, formerly the Director of Strategy and Corporate Development for the William Hill Group.
Toronto-based casino gaming developer Amaya Inc ans William Hill previously had discussed merging their businesses, but these talks were shelved in October 2016 after an unfavourable response to a survey William Hill shareholders about the proposed merger. The move follows widespread speculation that Amaya is looking to aggressively expand its corporate offering and further diversify its regulated gambling portfolio.
An industry financing expert Mr Chhabra has not been given an official executive title by Amaya but will serve as head of corporate M&A with a mandate to assess potential targets for corporate acquisition.
