QTech Games Takes Shining Savannah Award at BiG Africa Summit

Game aggregator QTech Games has claimed the Best Innovator title at the 2026 BiG Africa Summit Awards in Botswana. The company received the Shining Savannah Award for its hybrid retail-digital betting platform. The ceremony took place at Gaborone’s Grand Palm Hotel Casino and Convention Resort. QTech beat out established competitors including BetConstruct and Skilrock to secure the honour.

The award specifically recognised QTech Hybrid, the company’s flagship innovation. The platform allows players to move fluidly between physical retail locations and digital betting channels. For operators, this means unified management of both customer touchpoints through a single system. The technology has already proven itself in Ghana, where Soccabet deployed it across 200 retail outlets. The platform processes transactions and gameplay whether customers visit in person or bet remotely.

QTech CEO Philip Doftvik celebrated the recognition. He said the award validates the company’s ongoing growth in Africa and the work put into developing innovative solutions. He thanked both the internal team and the supplier partners who contribute to the platform.

The Shining Savannah Award honours companies delivering tailored solutions for African iGaming while demonstrating sustained growth. This year’s judges noted the exceptional standard of entries across all categories.

QTech has positioned itself as a specialist aggregator for emerging markets. Its approach focuses on adapting technology to local market conditions rather than simply exporting European solutions. Africa represents a significant opportunity for iGaming suppliers. The continent’s large population, improving connectivity, and evolving regulatory frameworks create conditions for sustained market growth.

QTech’s retail-to-digital approach acknowledges the continued importance of physical betting shops in African markets. Rather than replacing retail, the platform enhances it with integrated digital capabilities.
