The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has partnered with Bede Gaming to launch a new mobile app built on React Native technology, marking a significant upgrade to its digital offerings. This development comes as OLG competes in Ontario’s robust regulated iGaming market, which includes 47 licensed private operators alongside its own Proline platform.
Ontario’s regulated market is notable for its effectiveness in minimizing the grey market, with only 19% of estimated revenue attributed to unlicensed operators, compared to a national average of 66%, according to Blask market research. This competitive environment has driven OLG to enhance its mobile experience, and the new app represents a key advancement in that effort.
The React Native app is optimized for seamless omnichannel performance, ensuring a smooth user experience even during high-traffic periods. This technological upgrade supports OLG’s strategy to deliver personalized and engaging experiences, which are critical for player retention in a highly competitive market.
