Kambi Group deal in Bulgaria includes Moldavia

Stockholm-listed sports betting platform supplier Kambi Group has strengthened its partnership with Bulgarian National Lottery operator JSC. As a part of a new deal, Kambi will support the operator’s planned entry into Moldova this summer.

Kambi has been providing its sportsbook and managed services to National Lottery JSC’s 7777.bg brand in Bulgaria for the past 18 months, and will now also power the operator’s launch in Moldova.

National Lottery JSC, a member of the World Lottery Association, was recently selected by Moldova’s Public Property Agency to run both its national lottery product and a brand new online and retail sportsbook as part of a public-private partnership. JSC has the rights to operate in Moldova for 15 years.

Technically sports betting is still illegal in Moldova. However, in December of 2016, Moldova’s government passed legislation regulating gambling activities under a national monopoly framework.

Kristian Nylén, CEO of Kambi said: “I’m delighted we’ve agreed to take the partnership to Moldova, where I’m confident players will enjoy our exciting sports betting experiences in both the online and retail environments.”
